The MES has been holding international evaluation conferences since 1997 when the first international conference was held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.  Since then, three such conferences were held in 2004, 2006, and 2008.

These conferences have been well attended and fully supported by the Ministry of Finance and key government bodies such as MAMPU, ICU, and INTAN.  The past conferences have always focused on key issues and current topics of interest in Malaysia and internationally.  An overriding theme for all MES Evaluation Conferences is the theme "Towards a Knoweldge-Based Society Through Evaluation" which is in line with the Malaysian vision of a knoweldge-based society by the year 2020.

The MES conferences will continue to focus on this overall theme as well as current issues and challenges in the years to come.
